Steven John Carell

Steven John Carell, appearing in the credits under the abbreviated name Steve Carell, is an American actor and comedian, best known for his role as disorderly manager Michael Scott in the comedy television series “Office”. The films “Bruce Almighty”, “Forty-year-old virgin”, “Evan Almighty”, “Fall in love with his brother’s bride”, “Alexander and a terrible, nightmare, bad, very bad day” and others brought worldwide fame to Steve Carell. According to the authoritative magazine “Life”, he is the funniest person in the United States.

Steve Carell was born in the miniature town of Concord, located in Massachusetts. The boy’s father, Edwin Carell, was an electrical engineer, and her mother, Harriet Teresa Koch, worked as a nurse in a psychiatric hospital. Steve became the fourth child in the family: he has three older brothers. Interestingly, at birth, Edwin had the Italian surname Caroselli, since he comes from an Italian clan. But, having matured, Steve Carell’s father shortened his surname to a more familiar American hearing.

Stephen received a Roman Catholic upbringing and studied at secondary schools “Nashoba Brooks”, “Fenn” and “Middlesex”. As a teenager, Steve Carell became interested in hockey, stood at the gates for the school, and later for the student team at the University of Denison in Ohio, where the young man studied the history of the United States. In addition, Carell played lacrosse and also entered the university team.

After graduation, Steve Carell planned to attend law school, but did not explain at the interview why he wants to become a lawyer, so the guy was not accepted. The young man worked as a postman in Littleton, then as a DJ on the radio, and when he decided that he wanted to become an actor, he joined the backup troupe of the Chicago troupe. There, Steve was first noticed and invited to the set.

Films
From the theatrical stage, Steve Carell got into the cinema and on television. This happened for the first time in 1991, when he played Tesio in the family comedy “Curly Sue.” And the actor had to wait 12 years for the next invitation to the cinema. During this period, he made a comedian career in television shows. The artist could be seen in the sketches “The Dana Carvey Show” and “Fashion Magazine”. Steve Carell starred in a couple of dozens of episodes for the sitcom “Struggle Forces”, but only three of them appeared on the screens.

The American satirical television program Daily Show, which is a parody of news broadcasts, was much more successful. Steve Carell portrayed her as a special correspondent for five years. In 2005, the artist was invited to the new sitcom “Office”, where he got the image of the bad-headed manager Michael Scott. The first season failed, and the owners of the channel stopped shooting continued.

Just at that moment, the comedy “Forty-Year-Old Virgin” came out on the screens, which brought fame to Steve Carell, and it was decided to try to launch the second season of “Office”. This time the comedy was wildly successful and subsequently turned into a 9-season television series. True, Carell himself left the show in 2011, not becoming an extension of the contract.

During the filming of the sitcom, the actor managed to work in parallel with Nicole Kidman in the comedy The Witch, Jim Carrey in the film Bruce Almighty, Morgan Freeman in the sequel Evan Almighty, and Seth Rogen in the humorous film A Little Pregnant. In addition, Steve Carell became the star of the comedies “This Wacky Love”, “Dinner with the Dukes”, “Crazy Date” and “Falling in Love with the Brother’s Bride”.

The action of yet another comedy film, “Get Smart”, takes place on the territory of America and in Russia, so Carell in 2007 came to Moscow for the sake of full-scale shooting. The talk about the upcoming end of the world aroused interest in the fantastic comedy “Looking for a Friend at the End of the World”, where Steve collaborated with Keira Knightley. A good box office was also collected by the comedy about magicians “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” and the melodrama “The Road, the Way Home”, in which, in addition to Karell, plays Annasophia Robb.

There is also a project in the filmography of Steve Carell that is not related to the comedy genre. This is the historical sports drama Fox Hunter. Interestingly, this work has brought the actor so far the only nomination for the film award “Oscar”. It is worth noting the family comedy “Alexander and a Terrible, Nightmare, Bad, Very Bad Day”, the drama with Brad Pitt “The Short Game”, the social picture with Julianne Moore “All That I Have” and the romantic story of director Woody Allen “High Life” “.

In his acting biography, Steve also tried himself as a voice actor. In a voice, Karella speaks the main character of the animated film Despicable Me – Grew. In the next two parts, the actor returned to voicing the character.

Personal life
In the 90s, Steve Carell had experience teaching acting at improvisation courses. In one lesson, he met a student of Nancy Walls, whom he began to meet. In 1995, they got married, and Steve Carell’s wife took her husband’s surname. As Nancy Carell, she appeared with her husband in the Daily Show.
